HGHWAY 9

I was driving down from the Northeast. It was late in the fall. All the seasonal work had finished up north for the year, so I was making a run south for the job in the city.

I've done this trip probably a hundred times.

I was heading down Highway 9. It's a long stretch of small towns, abandoned gas stations, and roadside motels, totally left over from another time.

Real cheap rooms and plenty of weirdos along the way.

It usually takes me a good two or three days, depending on how hard I push it.
